Blackwater Bluegrass Stage Dedicated
This years festival was a special event. The stage was dedicated to a remarkable friend of bluegrass music, the late John Hamilton Elliott. Elliott was the son of the late U.S. Congressman, Carl Elliott. John was a bluegrass music lover without equal. He was in the Brusy Creek Boys and lifelong friend of Blackwater Bluegrass Festival owner George Deavours.
John Elliott succumbed to cancer during the great snow storm in the early 90's. He is fondly remembered here by many of his friends and family.
"John Elliott was a friend to everyone who knew him," says George.
