Spring
2005 Festival a Success The Spring
Blackwater Bluegrass festival, the weekend of May 13th and 14th
is now history. The weather cooperated, for the most part, and the
crowd was treated to two days of great Bluegrass music.
The river bank campers had a large time as always and the campsite
picking was exquisite. One campsite had a chili cook off and everyone
in the area was a winner because they got to sample bowls of killer
chili.
It was easy to see why Larry Sparks won the International Bluegrass
Music Association's Vocalist of the year because he was phenomenal. |

This festival was
a hit with the entire family. Crossing the Gap and The James and
Angela McKinney Band rounded out the Friday schedule which started
at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, the lineup included The Jake Landon's Band, Out of
the Blue, The William and Clark Expedition, Stan Nelson and Hurricane
Creek and the Nuthin' Fancy Bluegrass Band.
The planning committee will begin work this week on the lineup for
this fall. If you have a favorite Bluegrass group that you would
like to appear at Blackwater, please send a note to the webmaster.
